So damaalnu Travel to Niagara experience ku poiralaam. Our first itinerary is to cover the Corning Glass of Museum, New York which has the art, history and science of glass.
Below is the Kathi Vijay's blueprint of our trip
Places covered :
- Corning Glass Museum, Corning, New York
- Maid of the Mist, Niagara, New York
- Cave of the Winds, Niagara, New York
- Engayaachu Biriyani kedacha, New York
Ogey, first of all, anybody who wants to travel a long distance in US prefer rental car. There are few reasons for it.
- Car ku insurance eduthukalam, suppose unexpectedly gandamaanaalum namaku prachana irukathu
- We can stop at places we wanted to for pissing, snacks
- Chumma don't assume this to be India to have public transport for all moola muduku
- Expenditure wise, we can save if we know driving as we have to spend only for the rental, insurance and fuel.
We started around 7.30 in the morning. Halted at a place for breakfast. Reached Corning glass Museum around 1 in the noon. Had lunch and visited the museum. Spent 2 hours in the museum and I wouldn't recommend this museum for anybody in future as this did not interest us much. Below are some pics from the museum.
We then headed to the Magestic Niagara falls and on the way we got a speeding ticket as we were travelling on 87 mph. We then drove to Niagara and reached around 7.30 pm. We then had a refreshing mokka coffee at Starbucks and went to witness the Night view of Niagara.
This view did not give us a gigantic picture of the falls and as it was already 10 pm, we decided to have dinner and move to the hotel. We asked one of our friend about good restaurants close to Niagara who had been to this place just a couple weeks back and deivam ZAIKA nu oru restaurant soluchu. Indian Cuisine and just like the lunch we have on RMK Chairman's bday at our college, there served most of what could be made out of mutton and chicken. Nextu restuu !!
Our plan for the next day is to get ready as early as possible and vacate room by 7 am so that we can pop in to the first batch that goes to the Maid of the Mist. When people said Maid of the Mist, Cave of the Winds, definitely none of us would know what they are meaning about. Actually Maid of the Mist is a boat ride close to the gigantic Niagara falls to experience the heavy decibels of the 120 ft falling water and the instant mist that would not let you see the actual falls. It is such as awesome experience where would be taken to a location as shown in the below image and there would be instant cloudy formation followed by heavy rainfall. We all were given rain coat to prevent us from getting wet.
Secondly Cave of the Winds is to feel the hurricane windy push generated by the falls. Before I describe about the experience here, it took us close to 2.30 hrs to enjoy the Cave of the Winds. For getting the ticket, it took us half hour and queue to the Cave of the Winds took damn two hours in such a hot weather.
Alright, finally we reached the Cave of theWinds and the important portion is termed as Hurricane deck. Nobody can directly experience the fall as it is that heavy and dangerous. As the name tells, the Hurricane deck is actually a hurricane wind formed from the speed of the falls. Below are some of the photos taken after we completed our visit to Maid of the Mist and Cave of the Winds.
We then went to a restaurant nearby for lunch and started driving to home by 3 pm. We reached our flats by 11 pm and gotta return back the car before 12 else we would be charged an additional day. So by the time we reached home it was 1 am on the labor day and slept off.
All-in-all, this is like a awesome Massgang trip to me as it is that satisfactory and soul refreshing trip. Thanks a bunch to Bhavani and Gokul for creating a chance for us to travel such a long distance as this is our first longest self-driven road trip ever.
With Love,
